Moderate step-down: 1" supply or pump discharge to a 3/4" garden-hose run or 3/4" PE lateral - common in fence-line spray, pasture watering, hose-bib extensions, and contractor washdown rigs. Also bridges a 1" pressure manifold to a 3/4" hydroponic feed or marine deck-wash hose with minimal pressure loss across the fitting.

Tip: Warm the larger 1" pipe end in 140 deg F tap water for 20-30 seconds before sliding it over the barbs - this softens the polyethylene enough to seat fully without scoring. Let the joint cool before pressurizing so the pipe wall re-grips the barb shoulders for a leak-tight seal.
