WATTS ANKA REINFORCED NYLON REDUCING COUPLING - 1" X 1/4"Step down from a 1" main line to 1/4" micro-tubing without tools or extra fittings. The fiberglass-reinforced nylon body and bright blue captive compression nut are the ANKA signature - approved for potable water, non-corrosive in fertilizer and chlorinated lines, and rated 230 PSI at 140 deg F. Used in agricultural irrigation, rural water service, hydroponic systems, marine washdown, and contractor garden-hose work.
- Reduces 1" to 1/4" on ID-sized poly pipe, tubing, or hose
- Fiberglass-reinforced nylon - non-corrosive in fertilizer, chlorine, and saltwater
- Captive blue compression nut hand-tightens; no clamps or tools needed
- Approved for potable (drinking) water service
- Max 230 PSI at 140 deg F; reusable after disassembly
- Connects polyethylene pipe, clear braided vinyl, garden hose, and washdown hose
Large-to-micro transition: 1" main supply or pump discharge stepped down to 1/4" drip-emitter feed, micro-spray lead, or small auxiliary tap. The wide reduction is the size of choice when you need to pull a small accessory line off a primary irrigation manifold without splitting the main run, and it is also common on lab and analytical bench feeds.
Tip: Cut the 1/4" micro-tubing perfectly square and burr-free - even a small angle on the small side will lift the barb seal at pressure. If your main line runs above 30 PSI, add an inline pressure regulator downstream for drip emitters; the ANKA fitting itself handles full 230 PSI, but most 1/4" emitter tubing is rated much lower.
