Coleman Cable 20/6 thermostat wire is designed for low-voltage HVAC control wiring between the thermostat, furnace, air handler, and condenser. Features 6 solid bare copper conductors with color-coded PVC insulation and a smooth brown PVC outer jacket that resists snagging during long pulls through joists, wall cavities, and crawlspaces. Also serves doorbells, chimes, irrigation valves, security panels, and other 24 V Class 2 control circuits.

Wiring Tip: Standard HVAC thermostat color code is R = 24 V hot from transformer, W = heat call, Y = cool call, G = fan call, C = common (24 V return for thermostat power), O/B = reversing valve on heat pumps. Label both ends of every run during the pull so you don't have to ring out conductors back at the wall plate later.

Plenum Tip: CL2 cable is for general-purpose runs through joists and wall cavities. It is NOT rated for return-air plenums, vertical riser shafts, or commercial drop ceilings used as return-air paths - those require CMP (plenum) or CL2P-rated cable per NEC. Verify the installation environment before pulling cable.
