2" FLUTED ALUMINUM CARPET TRIM BAR - SILVER, 72"Finishes the raw edge of installed carpet at doorways and transitions to hard-surface flooring (vinyl, tile, hardwood, laminate). The 72" length spans a double doorway or runs full-width across a wider opening; the fluted top surface adds underfoot traction and visually hides the seam where carpet meets the adjacent floor.
- Material: Stamped aluminum with anodized silver finish
- Profile width: 2" (extra-wide to cover heavy-loop, Berber, and cut-pile carpet edges)
- Length: 72" (double-doorway or wide-opening run; cut down with a hacksaw for shorter spans)
- Top surface: Fluted/ridged for slip resistance
- Fastening: Pre-drilled countersunk holes for screw nails (sold separately)
- Use: Carpet-to-tile, carpet-to-vinyl, carpet-to-hardwood transitions across double doorways, hallway-to-room openings, and wide bedroom thresholds
- Compatible with: Standard residential carpet up to roughly 1/2" pile height
Installation Tip: Tuck the raw carpet edge under the open hem on the fluted side, then drive screw nails through the pre-drilled holes into the subfloor. For concrete subfloors, drill 1/4" pilot holes and set lead or plastic anchors. Cut to length with a fine-tooth hacksaw and dress the cut with a metal file.
Length Tip: The 72" run is the better choice over butting two 36" pieces together at a wide opening because a continuous bar resists footfall lift and avoids the visible end-to-end seam.
