PRO-PAD SANDING SPONGE - 150 GRITFoam-backed abrasive sanding sponge for hand-sanding wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall. The flexible foam core lets the pad conform to flat faces, edges, and shallow contours, so a single pad can move between cabinet faces, window casing, trim profiles, drywall patches, and metal repair. Designed for wet or dry use and rinse-and-reuse service to stretch the life of each pad.
- Wet or dry use on wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall
- Flexible foam core conforms to flat surfaces, edges, and contoured detail
- Rinse under water to clear loaded grit and return the pad to service
- Hand-friendly 4" x 2-7/8" x 1/2" pad fits the palm and works one-handed
- 150-grit aluminum oxide abrasive for medium-fine smoothing
- Grit: 150
Role: 150 grit sits between the cutting grits and the finishing grits - it is the step that gets bare wood ready for stain or the first coat of finish, and the step that scuffs cured paint or polyurethane between coats so the next coat keys properly. Use after 80 or 100 grit knocks the surface down, before stepping up to 220 grit ahead of any clear coat.
Tip: Before staining bare wood, finish sanding at 150 grit, not finer. Going past 150 grit closes the wood pores enough that pigment stains will sit on top and look blotchy. For a paint or topcoat job, follow this pad with 220 grit on the final pass.
