PRO-PAD SANDING SPONGE - 220 GRITFoam-backed abrasive sanding sponge for hand-sanding wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall. The flexible foam core lets the pad conform to flat faces, edges, and shallow contours, so a single pad can move between cabinet faces, window casing, trim profiles, drywall patches, and metal repair. Designed for wet or dry use and rinse-and-reuse service to stretch the life of each pad.
- Wet or dry use on wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall
- Flexible foam core conforms to flat surfaces, edges, and contoured detail
- Rinse under water to clear loaded grit and return the pad to service
- Hand-friendly 4" x 2-7/8" x 1/2" pad fits the palm and works one-handed
- 220-grit aluminum oxide abrasive for fine finish work
- Grit: 220
Role: 220 grit is the finishing grit of the Pro-Pad line. Use it for the final hand pass on bare wood before stain or clear, for scuffing dried primer or paint between coats so the next layer bonds, for taking the sheen off cured polyurethane before a recoat, and for light deburring on cut plastic or thin metal. It removes scratch marks from coarser grits without leaving its own visible cut on most species.
Tip: For the smoothest topcoat, sand to 220 grit, vacuum the surface, wipe with a tack cloth, and let any raised grain settle for a minute before brushing or spraying. Between coats of waterborne finish, a light pass with this pad is usually all that is needed.
