Ali Industries Gator 3148 is a 2-pack of 40-grit extra-coarse 3" x 21" sanding belts for portable belt sanders. The 40-grit cut is for stock removal -- knocking down rough-sawn lumber, leveling glue squeeze-out, stripping old finish off a deck or floor.

Use Tip: Let the sander's weight do the work; pushing harder gouges the surface and burns the belt. Keep the sander moving in long, overlapping passes along the grain -- stopping in one spot leaves a dip. Step through 50 or 80 before finishing grits.

Care Tip: Tap or brush the belt against a cleaning stick (a chunk of crepe rubber) to clear pitch and finish between cuts -- gets significantly more life out of each belt.
