Ali Industries Gator 3146 is a 2-pack of 80-grit medium 3" x 21" sanding belts for portable belt sanders. The 80-grit cut is the workhorse grit for general carpentry and remodeling work -- smoothing after coarse, leveling joinery, prepping painted surfaces.

Use Tip: Let the sander's weight do the work; pushing harder gouges the surface and burns the belt. Keep the sander moving in long, overlapping passes along the grain -- stopping in one spot leaves a dip. Step up to 120 grit before stain or sealer on bare wood.

Care Tip: Tap or brush the belt against a cleaning stick (a chunk of crepe rubber) to clear pitch and finish between cuts -- gets significantly more life out of each belt.
