NATIONAL V2030 SQUARE BEND SCREW HOOK - 2-1/4"

National Hardware V2030 series square bend screw hook. The 90-degree bend at the open end keeps items from slipping off, making it the workhorse hanger for organizing keys, mugs, utensils, tools, garden hose loops, and shop accessories. Sharp screw point bites directly into softwood and pegboard for tool-free installation. Steel wire with zinc plating for indoor or sheltered outdoor use.

Installation Tip: In softwood (pine, fir, plywood, pegboard) drive by hand or with a hook-driver bit until the shank seats. In hardwood (oak, maple) or trim work, drill a pilot 1/16" smaller than the shank diameter to avoid splitting. For panel mounting in drywall use a 1/4" toggle anchor or hollow-wall plug - the screw threads alone won't hold weight in gypsum. Slip the open end of an open-end wrench or pliers over the shank for extra leverage on stubborn driving.

Selection Tip: The 2-1/4" size is a mid-range general-purpose hook - large enough to hang mugs, small power tools, garden hand tools, coiled extension cords, and broom/mop handles, but small enough to fit cabinet undersides and pegboard wall organization. Step up to 2-5/8" or 3-1/16" for heavier shop and garage loads (clamps, rope coils, larger tools); step down to 1-13/16" or 1-3/8" for light hangers like keys, lanyards, and small kitchen items.

Note: Square bend screw hooks are rated for static hand-loaded hanging - not for overhead lifting, dynamic loads, or human/personnel safety. Working load varies by hook size and how the load hangs (straight-down vs angled pull); inspect the shank periodically for bend or pull-out and replace any hook that has shifted or rotated under load.
