ELECTRO-GALVANIZED ROOFING NAILS - 2"

Mazel electro-galvanized roofing nails with a wide flat head, smooth shank, and diamond point, sized for fastening asphalt shingles, roofing felt, and insulating board to wood roof deck. Steel core with a thin zinc electroplate finish for general weather resistance under shingle cover.

  • Length: 2"
  • Shank: 11 gauge smooth steel (~0.120" diameter)
  • Head: large flat head (approximately 3/8" diameter) seats shingle face flush and resists pull-through
  • Point: diamond point starts cleanly and minimizes deck splitting
  • Finish: electro-galvanized zinc plate, intended for use under shingle cover; for fully exposed coastal or copper-flashed work, step up to hot-dip galvanized or stainless
  • Standard: meets ASTM F1667 dimensional spec for roofing nails
  • Packaging: 1 lb box

Tip: 2" length is for re-roofing through one full existing layer of architectural shingles or for fastening into thicker sheathing or fiberboard. Drive heads flush with the shingle surface and not into it -- overdriven nails crush the asphalt mat and lead to leaks. Six nails per shingle in normal wind zones, eight nails in high-wind areas.
