IRWIN HANSON SPIRAL SCREW EXTRACTOR - EX-2The Irwin Hanson EX-2 spiral screw extractor removes broken studs, bolts, screws, and pipe fittings using an aggressive left-hand spiral design. As you turn the extractor counterclockwise, the spiral flutes bite progressively deeper into the broken fastener, increasing grip with each rotation.
- EX-2 size - for 5/32" to 7/32" broken fasteners
- Use with 7/64" drill bit (drill pilot hole first)
- Aggressive left-hand spiral flutes grip tighter under torque
- High carbon steel construction for durability
- Size etched on extractor for easy identification
- Use with a tap wrench or adjustable wrench for steady counterclockwise pressure
- Irwin Hanson Part No. 53402
Tip: Center-punch the broken fastener, drill the pilot hole straight and on-center with the specified bit size, then insert the extractor and turn slowly counterclockwise. Applying penetrating oil and letting it soak before extraction, or gently heating the surrounding material, can break the bond on rust-frozen fasteners. If the drill bit walks, restart the pilot with a center punch.
