The cold-weather acrylic adhesive stays tacky below freezing (rated to roughly -20 deg F for application) where standard foil tapes go brittle and fail to bond. Tip: The 3" width is the wide-coverage seam tape - the right pick for taping the joint between sheet-metal duct and a fiberglass duct board, sealing collar-to-plenum transitions, wrapping flexible-duct insulation jacket seams, and patching duct leaks larger than 1/2" diameter. The extra width gives you a wider adhesive footprint on either side of the seam centerline, which matters on rougher fiberglass duct board where edge lift can develop over years. Burnish firmly with a plastic squeegee after application.
