Application: #3 Phillips is the heavy Phillips size used on large Phillips wood screws (#12 and larger), lag screws, and many appliance and equipment fasteners. Don't substitute a #2 in a #3 recess - the smaller tip won't seat fully and will cam out on the first hit.

Tip: The FlexTorq zone needs slack to do its job - don't choke up by grabbing the bit holder right at the bit. Phillips bits cam out by design at high torque; let the impact driver do the work and back off the trigger as the head seats so the bit doesn't strip the recess after the screw bottoms out.
