Clear interior shrink-film insulation kit for sealing drafty windows for the heating season. The film mounts to the trim with the included double-sided tape, then shrinks tight with a household hair dryer to a wrinkle-free, see-through finish. The trapped air pocket between the film and the glass cuts cold-air infiltration, knocks down window condensation and frost, and adds insulating value to single-pane and aging double-pane windows without changing how the window looks from across the room.

Installation: Wipe the inside face of the window trim clean, press the tape around the full perimeter, peel the tape backing, and stick the film to the tape leaving a slight overlap on all sides. Run a hair dryer in slow passes a few inches off the surface; the film pulls taut as it heats. Trim the excess with a sharp knife.

Tip: Install on a dry day with the windows closed and the room at normal temperature. Trying to shrink the film over cold windows or over recently washed (still-damp) trim is the most common reason the tape lets go mid-winter. Pick a kit one size larger than your widest opening - the film trims down easily but cannot stretch.
