GEARWRENCH 6-POINT METRIC SOCKET - 3/8" DRIVE, 14MMGearWrench 14mm standard metric socket with 3/8" drive square and 6-point design. Surface Drive technology applies torque to the flats of the fastener rather than the corners, reducing rounding on tight or partially-rounded heads. Made from chrome vanadium steel with full-polish chrome finish for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The knurled ring distinguishes metric from SAE sockets in the toolbox.
- Surface Drive off-corner loading reduces fastener rounding on hex bolts and nuts
- 6-point design grips fastener flats for maximum torque transfer on round/standard hex heads
- 3/8" drive square fits any standard 3/8" ratchet, breaker bar, or extension
- Chamfered opening guides the socket onto the fastener quickly
- Hard-stamped size marking resists wear from sustained use
- Knurled ring distinguishes metric from SAE at a glance
- Chrome vanadium alloy steel with full-polish chrome finish
- Meets or exceeds ASME B107.5M (metric hand-ratchet socket) specifications
- GearWrench full lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects
Application Tip (14mm): Fits M10 flange-head metric bolts (DIN 6921) - common on chassis brackets, suspension links, and some German automotive hardware. Slightly smaller than the standard M10 hex (17mm) for flange-head applications.
Tip: Use the 6-point socket on tight or partially-rounded fasteners where a 12-point would slip. Chrome (hand-tool) sockets like this one are designed for hand-ratchet use - for air or electric impact wrench work, switch to a black-oxide impact socket (chrome finish chips under impact loads). Step up to a 1/2" drive socket and longer breaker bar for high-torque applications like lug nuts, crankshaft pulley bolts, or large suspension fasteners.
