Inlet Selection: The 3/4" FPT (female pipe thread) inlet accepts a 3/4" male pipe nipple or threaded stub projecting from the boiler, tank, or hydronic manifold. Choose FPT when the boiler/tank has a male threaded stub-out (common on bottom-drain water heaters and older cast-iron boilers). For a female-tapped port, use the MPT version (223LF (3/4" MPT)). 3/4" boiler drains suit larger residential and light commercial water heaters, higher-flow draining, and snow-melt or radiant-floor system service.

Installation Tip: Wrap 2-3 turns of PTFE thread tape clockwise on the pipe-thread inlet, thread by hand into the boiler/tank port, then wrench an additional 1/2 turn past hand-tight. Do not over-torque - bronze threads strip more easily than steel. The 3/4" garden hose thread outlet accepts any standard 3/4" GHT garden hose or hose cap for safe controlled draining.
