ROMEX SIMpull NM-B CABLE - 14/2 WITH GROUND, 250 FTSouthwire Romex Brand SIMpull Type NM-B (nonmetallic-sheathed) cable for residential branch circuits. Solid copper conductors insulated with PVC and a nylon sheath, inside a PVC jacket built with Southwire SIMpull Technology. Rated 600 volts; conductor insulation is rated 90 deg C per UL 719, with ampacity limited to the 60 deg C column of the National Electrical Code.
- 2 conductors of 14 AWG solid copper (black and white) plus a bare 14 AWG ground with kraft paper wrap
- Put up as a 250 ft coil
- Conductor: bare copper per ASTM B3, solid
- Insulation 20 mils, PVC jacket 25 mils, approximate overall diameter 0.372"
- Approximate weight 61 lb per 1000 ft
- For exposed and concealed work in dry locations; may be run in air voids of masonry block or tile walls where those walls are not wet or damp locations
- The 60 deg C ampacity limit puts 14 AWG NM-B at 15 A under the NEC
- UL 719, ASTM B3, RoHS-2 - manufacturer part 28827455
Tip: Typical use is 15 A general lighting and receptacle circuits. Do not feed a 14/2 run from a 20 A breaker. Keep the inner bend radius at a minimum of 5x the cable diameter (about 1.9" here) so the jacket and insulation are not damaged. The individual conductors inside NM-B are not listed or marked as THHN and may not be installed apart from the complete cable.
