CAMPBELL CHAIN REPAIR LINK - 3/8" x 1-5/8"
Campbell Chain repair link (also called a lap link) is a permanent quick-fix connector for joining broken chain ends or attaching hardware to a chain end. The link has two open hooks at one end that wrap around the chain link or eye; once positioned, the hooks are hammered flat against the link body to lock the connection. Distinct from screw-collar quick links (removable) and snap hooks (spring-gated, removable), a repair link is a one-time permanent connection that carries the rated working load of standard utility chain at the same trade size.
- Size: 3/8" x 1-5/8" (chain trade size x overall link length)
- Safe working load: 1,250 Lb
- Material: low-carbon steel, Class 3 general utility grade
- Finish: Blu-Krome zinc plating with blue chromate dip - the visibly blue Campbell-branded utility finish
- Connection method: insert the chain link or eye, then hammer the two open hooks flat against the link body
- Use as a permanent chain repair, end attachment, or multi-chain junction
- Permanent connection - cannot be re-opened without cutting the link
- Not for overhead lifting; do not exceed the safe working load limit
Tip: The 3/8" x 1-5/8" link matches 3/8" chain at 1,250 Lb SWL - the workhorse repair size for trailer safety chain ends, light tow chain, log-skidding chain, and livestock tie-out lines on most residential and farm applications.
