The minimal head leaves a tiny hole that can be filled with putty for a clean, paint-grade finish, making these nails ideal for trim, molding, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. Galvanized coating adds corrosion resistance, so they hold up in damp interior areas (bathrooms, mudrooms) and exterior trim that sees occasional moisture.

Best for: 4d (1-1/2") is the right length for delicate trim work - shoe molding, lattice strips, small picture-frame stock, base-shoe at baseboard, and 1/4"-3/8" applique. Long enough to reach a stud finger through 1/2" trim, short enough not to split narrow stock.

Tip: Drive most of the way with a hammer, then countersink the last 1/16" with a nail set so you can fill the hole with putty before paint. Pre-drill in hardwoods (oak, maple) and near board ends to prevent splitting.
