MAZEL GALVANIZED FINISH NAILS - 16d (3-1/2")Hot-dipped galvanized finish nails with a small barrel-shaped head designed to be set below the wood surface. The minimal head leaves a tiny hole that can be filled with putty for a clean, paint-grade finish, making these nails ideal for trim, molding, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. Galvanized coating adds corrosion resistance, so they hold up in damp interior areas (bathrooms, mudrooms) and exterior trim that sees occasional moisture.
- 16d penny size, 3-1/2" long
- Small countersink head for nail-set finishing
- Galvanized finish for corrosion resistance
- For trim, molding, cabinetry, and finish carpentry
- 1 lb box (approximately 55-65 nails)
Best for: 16d (3-1/2") is the heavy-trim length - mantel headers, layered/built-up baseboards, thick crown molding, stair stringers, exterior door jambs, and multi-piece trim assemblies where you need to pull two thick pieces tight to framing through 1-1/2" of stacked material.
Tip: Drive most of the way with a hammer, then countersink the last 1/16" with a nail set so you can fill the hole with putty before paint. Pre-drill in hardwoods (oak, maple) and near board ends since 16d nails are large enough to split thinner stock.
