HANSON METRIC PLUG TAP - M10 x 1.25 (FINE)The Hanson M10 x 1.25 metric plug tap cuts fine-pitch internal threads in steel, aluminum, brass, and other free-machining metals. The 1.25 mm pitch is the FINE-thread spec for M10 - common in automotive applications such as spark-plug holes, brake-line fittings, and metric oil-drain bungs. High carbon steel construction holds its edge through repeated hand-tapping work.
- M10 x 1.25 mm thread, FINE pitch (M10 coarse is 1.50 - confirm before use)
- Plug tap - chamfered lead, cuts full threads after the first 3-5 threads
- High carbon steel (HCS) construction
- 4 flutes for fast chip clearance
- Use in a standard tap wrench or T-handle
Tip: Drill the tap hole with an 8.8 mm bit before tapping (the standard tap-drill size for M10 x 1.25). For M10 x 1.5 coarse work, use the M10 x 1.5 tap instead - the threads are not interchangeable. Use cutting oil on steel.
