Tip: A clean 45-degree flare on each tube end is essential for a leak-free joint. Use a flaring tool sized for the tubing OD, lubricate the flare cone with a drop of refrigeration oil, and tighten the flare nuts hand-tight plus one to one-and-a-half turns with a flare wrench. Overtightening cracks the flare and causes leaks.
