Bi-metal oscillating multi-tool plunge blade for flush cuts, plunge cuts, and undercut work in wood, drywall, plastic, fiberglass, and nail-embedded wood. High-speed steel cutting teeth are electron-beam welded to a flexible alloy steel back so the teeth stay sharp through nails and metal trim without the blade body snapping. Black oxide finish reduces friction and gumming when cutting resinous wood, drywall paper, or PVC. Universal three-tab mount fits most older OIS-pattern oscillating multi-tools (Bosch pre-Starlock, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, Ryobi, Porter-Cable, Rockwell, Genesis) and many Starlock holders with an adapter.

Selection Tip: 1-1/4" 3-pack is the contractor refill pack for the most-used plunge blade size. Door-jamb undercuts for flooring installs alone burn through 1-1/4" blades faster than any other size, especially on oak or engineered with embedded staples. Three blades cover a typical room install with spares for the next job.

Use Tip: Let the tool oscillate at speed before contacting the workpiece. Use light pressure and let the teeth feed -- pushing hard heats the bi-metal weld and shortens blade life. For long straight cuts, work the blade in a slight rocking motion to clear chips; for plunge cuts, tilt the blade to start a corner rather than dropping flat into the surface.

Care Tip: A wire brush takes drywall and pitch off the teeth between cuts. Replace when teeth round over or the blade discolors blue near the tip from heat -- a dull bi-metal blade loads the oscillator gearbox and can burn out the motor on extended runs. Store dry; the black oxide is thin and will rust under humid conditions.

Note: Not rated for hardened steel screws, masonry, or cast iron -- step up to carbide-grit or diamond-grit oscillating blades for those materials. Wear ANSI-rated eye protection; oscillating blades throw fine chips at high frequency.
