Selection Tip: Heavier two-handed leverage for larger padlock shackles, thicker chain, soft bolts and rivets, and concrete reinforcing rod (rebar). Steps up cleanly from the 18" when the smaller cutter starts to flex on the material.

Use Tip: Place the material as close to the pivot (the heel of the jaw) as possible. Cutting force is highest there and falls off fast toward the tip - light wire snips fine at the tip, hardened stock needs the heel.

Care Tip: A drop of light machine oil at the pivot keeps the action smooth. Store dry to keep the cutting edges from pitting, and inspect the blades for nicks or misalignment after heavy use - misaligned blades crush instead of shear and dull the edge fast.
