Marshalltown 9" Radial Sanding Discs are aluminum oxide hook-and-loop discs sized to fit the Marshalltown Radial Pole Sander and most 9" round drywall sanders. The 220-grit cut is sized for very fine final smoothing -- knocks down primer fuzz or polishes a Level 5 skim coat ahead of the top coat. Hook-and-loop backing snaps the disc onto the sander pad and pulls it off cleanly for fast grit changes mid-job, and the tear-resistant paper core stands up to corner pressure and ceiling work without flagging or shedding.

Grit Selection: Step through grits coarse-to-fine for the cleanest finish -- 100 to knock down ridges and lumps, 120 to smooth the second coat, 150 for general finish sanding, 180 for the last pass before primer, and 220 for very fine polish on Level 5 skim coats or to knock down primer fuzz. Skipping more than one grit at a time leaves scratch tracks that show through paint, especially in raking light.

Usage Tip: Let the weight of the pole sander do the work and keep the disc flat against the surface -- digging in with the edge gouges the compound and shortens disc life. Vacuum or wipe the surface between grits so loose grit from the previous pass does not score the next one.
