JOHN FREY LEAD FREE BRASS PEX COUPLING - 1" x 3/4"This lead free brass reducing coupling steps 1" PEX tubing down to 3/4" PEX tubing in a single straight fitting. Use it for branch transitions off a 1" trunk line down to a 3/4" fixture supply, manifold-to-fixture step-downs, and PEX-to-polybutylene conversions where the existing pipe size does not match the new run.
- Lead free brass construction certified safe for potable drinking water (meets the 0.25% lead-content rule per the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act)
- Reduces from 1" PEX to 3/4" PEX in one straight fitting
- Works on hot and cold water supply, hydronic radiant heat, and PEX-to-polybutylene transitions
- Compatible with standard PEX tubing brands (Uponor, Viega, SharkBite, Apollo, Zurn, Watts)
- Crimps with copper rings per ASTM F1807 or stainless cinch clamps per ASTM F2098 (use the ring sized for the matching tubing OD on each side)
- Brass body resists corrosion, mineral scale, and pipe-stress cracking far better than push-fit plastic alternatives
Tip: A reducing coupling has two different barb diameters - confirm which side is which before cutting your tubing. Cut PEX square with a dedicated PEX cutter, slide the correctly-sized crimp ring or cinch clamp onto each side (1" ring for the 1" side, 3/4" ring for the 3/4" side), push each tubing end fully onto its barb until it bottoms out, then crimp roughly 1/8" to 1/4" from the end. Verify each crimp with a go/no-go gauge before pressure-testing.
