This 1" pleated MERV 13 air filter is engineered for whole-house HVAC systems where indoor air quality is a priority. The MERV 13 rating captures the fine particulate that lower MERV filters miss - smoke, bacteria, virus-carrying droplets, fine dust, and most allergens - while the deep accordion pleats keep the pressure drop low enough that a typical residential blower can handle it.

Tip: Nominal dimensions are about 1/2" smaller than the labeled size on each axis - that's intentional, so the filter slides into a standard 16x20x1 housing without binding. Install with the airflow arrow pointing toward the blower. Before stepping up to MERV 13, confirm your blower is rated for it; older single-stage furnaces can struggle with the higher pressure drop, so a MERV 11 may be the better long-term choice for those systems.
