MIBRO TWISTED POLYPROPYLENE ROPE - YELLOW - 1/4" x 100 FT

Mibro twisted polypropylene rope is a versatile general-purpose utility rope that floats on water and resists rot, mildew, oil, gasoline, and most common chemicals. The UV-stabilized bright yellow construction provides high visibility for safety and easy spotting during marine, agricultural, and outdoor work. The three-strand twisted construction holds knots securely and splices cleanly for eye terminations or end loops.

  • Diameter and length: 1/4" x 100 ft
  • Safe working load: 110 lb (industry standard 10:1 safety factor)
  • Floats on water - ideal for marine, dock, pool, and water rescue use
  • Resists rot, mildew, oil, gasoline, and most chemicals
  • UV-stabilized polypropylene for extended outdoor exposure
  • Three-strand twisted construction - easy to splice, easy to knot
  • Lighter per foot than nylon or manila for the same diameter
  • Bright yellow for high visibility against grass, deck, and water
  • Hank packaged for tangle-free pay-out and storage

1/4" is the light-utility tier - tarp lacing, clotheslines, tent guy lines, small craft bow line, packaging tie-down, dog tie-out for small breeds, and securing light cargo in a pickup bed. Not for towing or shock loads.

The 100 ft hank covers longer runs - full clothesline, multi-tarp lashing across a flatbed, dock-to-piling spans, or paying out enough line to anchor a small boat in moderate water.

Tip: Singe freshly cut ends with a lighter or match to fuse the strands and prevent unraveling. For load-bearing knots use a bowline, double sheet bend, or anchor bend - avoid square knots under load. Polypropylene weakens with prolonged direct sunlight (typically 2-3 seasons of continuous UV); inspect before each use for fuzzed strands, broken yarns, or a glazed surface and retire the rope if any of those are present.

Care: Coil loosely and store dry and out of direct sun. Do not use this rope on running winches or capstans - twisted polypropylene melts at low friction temperatures. Avoid loads exceeding the rated safe working load. Polypropylene shows little warning before failing under shock load, so size up a diameter if there is any chance of jerking or sudden impact.
