STRINGLINER PRO MASON LINE REEL - GOLD TWISTED, 270 FT
The Stringliner Pro mason line reel is the construction line that lives in your nail bag or pocket. Carpenters, masons, brick layers, and steel workers use it to snap straight reference lines for layout, course alignment, fence runs, and rough construction.
- Color: Gold - traditional mason line shade contrasts cleanly against gray block, brick, and freshly poured concrete
- Line: 270 feet of #18 twisted nylon - twisted construction packs more linear length onto a 1/4 lb reel than the equivalent braided line
- Reel: durable polyethylene body with a patented handle that swaps spools quickly when the line wears out
- Rewind: hand crank for quick takeup, or auto-rewind by inserting a power screwdriver into the slot at the base of the handle
- No metal moving parts - won't rust, easy to clean when chalk or mortar dust loads up
- Reloadable - factory replacement #18 twisted nylon spools are sold separately
Length: 270 Ft (1/4 lb twisted reel) - mid-size reel sized for typical residential foundation layouts, full-wall course lines, suburban fence runs (5-6 average lots), and standard retaining wall string lines.
Twisted vs Braided: Twisted #18 nylon packs more linear length onto the same reel size, which matters on big foundation layouts and long fence runs where you'll burn through 250-300 feet between resets. Braided line resists fraying at the cut end and stretches less for tighter snap accuracy but holds less footage per reel weight.
Tip: Pull the line taut between corner pins or stakes before snapping. A single firm snap leaves a crisper chalk mark and saves the line for the next course - over-snapping a slack line frays the twisted strands and shortens the chalk coat.
Tip: Singe the cut end briefly with a lighter to fuse the twisted strands so the line won't unravel on the spool. Twisted line is more prone to end-fuzz than braided, so this matters more here.
