Schedule 40 PVC female adapter that connects 1-1/2" PVC slip (socket) pipe to 1-1/2" female pipe thread (FPT). Used to transition from solvent-welded PVC pipe to threaded valves, hose bibs, gauges, or metal piping. White Schedule 40 PVC, manufactured to industry standard wall thickness for pressure water service.

Installation Tip (slip side): Dry-fit the pipe and adapter first -- the pipe should bottom in the socket. Disassemble, apply PVC primer to both the pipe end and the socket, then a generous coat of PVC solvent cement. Push the pipe fully into the socket with a quarter-turn and hold for 30 seconds. Wipe excess cement and let cure before pressure testing.

Installation Tip (threaded side): Wrap 2-3 turns of PTFE thread tape clockwise on the mating MPT fitting. Hand-tighten plus 1 to 1-1/2 turns with a strap wrench. Do not overtighten -- PVC threads can crack under excessive torque, and the joint will leak rather than seal tighter.
