MIBRO HOLLOW CORE POLY ROPE, YELLOW - 1/2" x 250 FTHollow-braid polypropylene utility rope on a bulk spool. The hollow construction makes the rope lighter than solid-braid or 3-strand poly at the same diameter, and the polypropylene fiber floats - useful for marine, pool, and dockside work where a sunk line is hard to recover. Yellow is the high-visibility utility color, easy to spot against grass, water, or a debris pile and slow to fade in UV.
- Diameter: 1/2" / Length: 250 ft per spool
- Construction: hollow braid polypropylene
- Safe working load: 430 lb (tensile breaking strength is roughly 5x higher; never load near break strength)
- Floats on water - specific gravity around 0.91
- Rot, mildew, and most-chemical resistant; will not absorb water and stays flexible in cold
- UV-stabilized yellow pigment; two to three year outdoor service life depending on climate
- Splices easily - hollow construction takes a brummel splice without a fid
Use: Heavier utility - small-craft mooring snub, dock line for runabouts and pontoons, light-vehicle tow on level ground, tarp-roof rigging, heavy-duty clothesline, log-haul on a tractor 3-point hitch, and ATV or dirt-bike tie-down on a trailer.
Care tip: Polypropylene weakens steadily under UV. Store the spool indoors or under cover when not in use, and inspect the working section for fuzzing or sun-bleached pale spots - both are signs the strength is gone even when the rope still feels intact. Cut and re-end any section that shows damage.
Knot tip: Poly fiber is slick. Wet knots set better than dry; a bowline holds well, while a clove hitch or rolling hitch needs an extra half hitch to keep from slipping under load. For permanent terminations, whip or back-splice the end to keep the hollow braid from unraveling.
