PVC COMPRESSION COUPLINGJoins or repairs Schedule 40 PVC and other IPS-sized pipe without primer, cement, or threading. The slip-on body has a compression nut and rubber gasket at each end, so a clean cut and a couple of wrench turns are all it takes to make a watertight splice. Common cut-in fix for broken irrigation lines, well-water supply, pool plumbing, and lawn sprinkler mains where solvent-welding in-place is impractical.
- Material: Schedule 40 PVC body with EPDM rubber gaskets
- Double-seal design: gasket and compression nut on each end
- Pressure rating: 150 PSI cold water
- Size: 1-1/4" IPS x 1-1/4" IPS compression
- Compatible with Schedule 40 PVC and galvanized IPS pipe
- Manufacturer part number: 160-106 (B&K / Anvil-Mueller)
Tip: Slide both nuts onto the pipe first, deburr the pipe ends, then push them into the coupling until they bottom out against the internal stop. Hand-tighten the compression nuts and finish with about one turn using a pipe wrench - the gasket does the sealing, so over-torquing only cracks the plastic nut. For cold water service only.
