Transition from PEX tubing to copper supply lines with this John Frey 1/2" lead-free brass adapter. The PEX side accepts a standard crimp ring for a watertight mechanical seal; the male sweat side solders directly into 1/2", 3/4", or 1" copper as the size dictates. Tip: Solder the sweat end first while the adapter is in your hand or in a fitting brush stand, then crimp the PEX side after the brass has cooled. Direct torch heat will scorch and weaken PEX if you try to sweat with the tubing already attached. Always crimp with a calibrated PEX crimp tool and verify with the matching go/no-go gauge - undercrimps and overcrimps both leak.
