Tip: Strip about 1/4" of insulation, twist the strands tight, and seat the wire fully into the barrel so the insulation just touches the vinyl - a wire that bottoms short of the barrel will pull out under vibration. Crimp with the insulated-terminal jaw of a ratcheting crimper (not the bare-terminal jaw, which will cut the vinyl). Give the wire a firm tug after crimping to confirm the bite.
