BEVELED FAUCET BIBB WASHERReplacement beveled bibb washer for compression-style faucet stems. The conical bevel seats against angled faucet seat washers to seal water flow when the stem is closed. A worn or deformed bibb washer is the #1 cause of a dripping compression faucet and the cheapest fix you can make on a leaking spigot, garden hose bibb, or older two-handle compression sink/tub valve.
- Beveled (conical) profile seats against angled bibb washer seats
- Rubber compound resists hot water and chlorinated municipal supply
- Size: 1/4"
- Center hole accepts standard brass bibb screw
- Packed 6 washers per card
Installation Tip: Shut the supply off at the angle stop, back the packing nut off the faucet stem, and unscrew the stem from the faucet body. Remove the old brass bibb screw, drop in the new washer with the beveled face seating into the faucet body, and reinstall the screw. If the seat surface inside the body is pitted or grooved the new washer will leak again within weeks -- dress the seat with a faucet-seat reseating tool before reassembly, or replace the seat if it is removable.
Sizing Tip: Bibb washer sizes are trade codes, not pipe sizes. #00 is the smallest (small lavatory and bar-faucet stems), 1/4" and 1/4" Large fit most standard two-handle sink and tub compression valves, 3/8" is the most common workhorse size, and 1/2" covers larger residential compression valves and most outdoor hose bibbs. Match the old washer's outer diameter for the closest fit, or use an assortment kit if you are not sure.
