Installation Tip: Confirm the door has a standard 2-1/8" cross bore and 1" edge bore before unboxing. Set the adjustable backset on the latch to match the existing strike (most residential doors are 2-3/8"). Install the latch with the slope facing the door stop so the door pulls itself closed. Test the key from outside and the turn-button from inside before tightening fully so you can correct any binding.

Finish Selection: Antique brass is a darker warm-tone finish with a slight aged patina look - works on traditional, Tudor, and Craftsman homes. Coordinates with antique-brass hinges, sconces, and oil-rubbed kitchen hardware in a less stark way than dark bronze.

Note: This lockset is keyed at the factory and is not field-rekeyable. The KW1 keyway is the standard Kwikset-compatible keyway, so a locksmith can cut additional keys from the original key without re-pinning. For higher security, pair with a deadbolt and use 3" wood screws on the strike plate to anchor into the framing stud behind the jamb.
