EASYHEAT AHB PIPE FREEZE PROTECTION CABLE - 12 FTThe EasyHeat AHB-112A is a ready-to-install pipe heating cable that keeps water-supply pipes from freezing in unconditioned crawl spaces, garages, well houses, mobile-home skirts, and outdoor runs. It delivers 7 watts per foot (84 watts total) on a standard 120 VAC outlet, with a built-in thermostat that decides when to run so you can leave it plugged in all winter.
- 12 Ft length - protects a mid-length run such as a crawl-space supply line or an exterior hose-bib feeder
- Built-in energy-saving thermostat activates at ~38 deg F and shuts off at ~45 deg F
- Compatible with metal and plastic water pipes from 3/8" to 1-1/2" diameter
- Construction: tough XLPE inner insulation, continuous ground braid, weather-resistant PVC outer jacket
- Plugs into a standard 120 VAC outlet - GFCI protection required
- UL Listed to CSA standards and CSA Certified
- Ready to install - no splicing or end-sealing required
Selection Tip: Sizing is by pipe length, not by air temperature - measure the run of pipe you need to protect and pick the cable closest to it without falling short. The 12 Ft cable is the typical pick for a residential crawl-space supply or under-mobile-home run; step up to the 24 Ft or 30 Ft model for longer runs.
Install Tip: Run the cable straight along the bottom of the pipe and tape every 12 inches with the supplied or fiberglass tape - NOT vinyl electrical tape, which softens at heat. The thermostat bulb must sit against the pipe, not dangling in air. Insulate over the cable (fiberglass or foam pipe wrap) once installed; the insulation is what makes the system efficient.
Note: Do not overlap, cross, or shorten the cable. Use only on water-filled pipes. Read and follow all installation instructions.
