MIBRO DIAMOND BRAID POLYPROPYLENE ROPE - 3/16" x 75 FT

Diamond braid polypropylene rope for outdoor and water-based applications. The braided construction floats on water and resists rot, mildew, and abrasion -- giving you a durable utility rope for tarps, light tie-downs, marine use, and pool work.

  • Diameter: 3/16"
  • Length: 75 FT
  • Tensile strength: 58 lb
  • Material: Polypropylene
  • Construction: Diamond braid (smooth, flexible)
  • Light-utility size for lashings, clotheslines, blind cord, and hobby work
  • Floats on water -- won't sink if dropped overboard
  • Rot, mildew, and abrasion resistant; can be stored wet or dry
  • Color: Assorted (color choice varies by stock)
  • MPN: 401431BGV1

Tip: Tensile is the rope's breaking strength, not a safe load. Industry practice is to size your load at no more than 1/4 to 1/6 of tensile for safety, and knots reduce that further by 30-50%. UV is the main enemy of polypropylene -- sustained sun makes it brittle over a season or two, so store the rope out of direct sunlight and inspect for chalky white shedding before reusing on anything load-bearing.

Polypropylene vs nylon vs manila: Polypropylene is the budget floating rope -- light, water-resistant, but weaker per diameter than nylon and degrades faster in UV. Nylon stretches under load and absorbs shock (better for towing, mooring). Manila is the traditional natural fiber -- heavy, grippy, but rots if stored wet.
