Heavy-duty extruded aluminum door threshold for sealing the bottom of an exterior door against drafts, dust, and weather. A replaceable vinyl insert across the top rides against the door sweep to close the gap when the door is shut, and vinyl caulk feet on the underside seal the threshold to the floor. The aluminum extrusion holds its shape under foot traffic, and the vinyl insert pops out and replaces in seconds when it wears.

Pairs with: Run this threshold against a matching door sweep on the bottom of the door slab. The threshold seals the floor side, the sweep seals the door side, and together they close the bottom gap completely. Choose bronze when the door hardware - kick plate, hinges, lockset - is bronze, brown, or dark so the threshold blends in at floor level.

Installation: Measure the doorway width, cut the threshold to length with a fine-tooth hacksaw, dry-fit it against the existing door, pre-drill countersink screw holes through the body, and fasten down with flooring screws. Replace the vinyl insert each season or whenever it shows cracking.
