7 X 7 GALVANIZED CABLE - 3/32" X 250 FTIndusco 7 x 7 galvanized steel cable for general utility, agricultural, and light industrial use. The 7 x 7 construction (seven outer strands of seven wires each, 49 wires total) is more flexible than 1 x 19 strand cable while still carrying useful working loads, so it bends around small-diameter pulleys and through guy clips without kinking. Hot-dip galvanized zinc coating protects against rust in outdoor and damp environments.
- Construction: 7 x 7 (7 strands of 7 wires, 49 wires total)
- Diameter: 3/32"
- Length: 250 Ft on spool
- Working load limit: 184 lb (5:1 safety factor)
- Finish: hot-dip galvanized steel for corrosion resistance
- Use: agricultural, industrial, and general utility
- NOT for aircraft, overhead lifting of personnel, or critical life-safety service
Where to use: Light guy wires for antennas and small masts, light fence tension lines, dog runs, light pulley lines, and general utility lashing where small diameter and easy handling matter.
Working Load Limit: The WLL is set at roughly 1/5 of minimum breaking strength, giving a 5:1 safety factor. Never exceed the WLL, and de-rate further if the cable runs through sharp bends, narrow pulleys, or shock-load conditions. For overhead lifting of personnel or any critical life-safety service, use cable rated for that purpose - this is utility-grade aircraft-style cable, not certified aircraft cable.
Cutting Tip: To cut wire rope cleanly, wrap the cable tightly with electrical tape on each side of the cut line, then cut through the tape with bolt cutters or an abrasive cut-off wheel. The tape keeps the strands from unraveling. Seize the cut end with a wire-rope clip, swaged sleeve, or a thimble-and-clip termination - never knot wire rope.
