CENTURY DRILL & TOOL METRIC HEXAGON DIE M10 x 1.50Century Drill & Tool metric hex dies are designed for hand-cutting precise external threads on bolts and rods. The hexagon shape lets you turn the die with any standard wrench for even pressure distribution, so you do not need a separate die stock for basic work. High carbon steel construction is heat treated and tempered for file-hard cutting edges and extended tool life.
- M10 x 1.50mm coarse pitch metric thread
- Hexagon shape - use with any standard wrench
- High carbon steel, heat treated and tempered
- Precision-cut threads for consistent, exact threading
- Plug style with chamfered lead threads
- For cutting new threads or cleaning damaged threads
Tip: Chamfer the rod end slightly so the lead threads start cleanly, then apply cutting oil to both the rod and the die teeth. Run the die one-half to one turn forward, then back off a quarter turn to break the chip and clear it - this keeps the threads clean and stops the die from binding. Re-oil every few turns. For cleaning damaged threads, run the die over the existing threads slowly and let it chase the original cut.
