SCHEDULE 80 PVC BUSHING, SPIGOT X FPT - 1-1/4" x 3/4"

Schedule 80 PVC reducer bushing connects a larger PVC fitting hub to a smaller threaded male pipe. The spigot end slides into the larger Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC fitting socket and is solvent-welded in place. The female pipe thread (FPT) end accepts a smaller male-thread pipe or fitting and seals with PTFE thread tape. Heavier-walled Schedule 80 PVC handles higher pressure than Schedule 40 and is rated for distribution of pressurized fluids that are chemically compatible with PVC.

  • Reducer size: 1-1/4" spigot x 3/4" female pipe thread (FPT)
  • Material: Schedule 80 PVC (heavy-wall pressure rating)
  • Connection: Spigot (solvent-weld) x FPT (threaded)
  • Color: Gray
  • Application: Pressurized cold-water and chemically compatible fluid distribution

Tip: Use PVC primer and PVC solvent cement on the spigot joint - ABS cement and CPVC cement will not bond standard PVC reliably. On the threaded FPT side, wrap the male thread two to three turns of PTFE tape in the direction of thread engagement, then thread the bushing hand-tight plus one to two turns with a strap or smooth-jaw wrench. PVC threads strip easily, so do not pipe-wrench tighten. For hot or alternating hot-cold service consider CPVC instead of PVC.
