4200 SERIES PUTTY KNIFERed Devil's 4200 Professional Series putty knife with a flexible blade, for pressing glazing compound, spackling, and filler into holes and cracks and then feathering the edges out flush with the surrounding surface. The black nylon handle is solvent-resistant and the blade runs the full length of it, so the tool takes pressure without the blade working loose.
- Blade width: 2"
- Flexible high-carbon, precision-ground steel blade
- Lacquered blade surface resists rust
- Blade extends through the handle for strength
- Black nylon solvent-resistant handle
- Brass-plated, solid steel nail-setting head on the handle end
- Manufacturer model: 4206
Tip: Press the filler in with the first pass and take it off flush with the second. Most fillers shrink a little as they dry, so on anything deeper than a nail hole plan on a second thin coat rather than trying to fill it in one heavy pass.
Care: Wipe the blade clean and dry it before you put the tool away. Compound and putty come off easily while wet and turn stubborn once cured, and a hardened ridge on the edge will drag lines through your next pass.
