4200 SERIES PUTTY KNIFERed Devil's 4200 Professional Series putty knife with a stiff blade, for scraping off old paint and putty, lifting loose material, and working filler into a surface that needs pressure behind the blade. The black nylon handle is solvent-resistant and the blade runs the full length of it, so the tool takes pressure without the blade working loose.
- Blade width: 1-1/4"
- Stiff high-carbon, precision-ground steel blade
- Lacquered blade surface resists rust
- Blade extends through the handle for strength
- Black nylon solvent-resistant handle
- Beveled scraping edge
- Brass-plated, solid steel nail-setting head on the handle end
- Manufacturer model: 4201
Tip: Keep a stiff blade at a shallow angle to the surface. Driving it in steeply digs into the substrate underneath, and on drywall a torn paper face has to be sealed before it will take compound or paint again.
Care: Wipe the blade clean and dry it before you put the tool away. Compound and putty come off easily while wet and turn stubborn once cured, and a hardened ridge on the edge will drag lines through your next pass.
